Tutoring

As well as therapy work, I am also able to offer tutoring in Maths and Science up to GCSE level, as well as tutoring/support for children and young people who are finding school life challenging.

I am a qualified teacher and as well as teaching in mainstream secondary schools, have many years experience in a wide variety of SEN settings-Special Schools (including Thornchace School in Guildford, Gosden House School in Bramley and Kennel Lane School in Bracknell); Pupil Referral units in Surrey, Hampshire and Bracknell Forest; online tutoring for Notschool and Liftoff; and with students who are part of the Virtual School both in Surrey and Bracknell Forest. As a home tutor I have taught a wide variety of subjects including Science, Maths, English, History, Geography, Art, and Cookery.

With this wealth of experience in supporting learners who are disengaged from education, I work with the young person and their family to find ways of supporting them to re-engage with learning. My therapeutic background means gives me an invaluable insight and understanding of what may be behind the difficulties the learner is experiencing.

I have an enhanced DBS check, and complete Safeguarding training every year.
